Master Bat McGrath
Master Bat McGrath is the man responsible for introducing Kung Fu San Soo to the Nashville area.
Master Bat McGrath began his study of Kung Fu San Soo in North Hollywood, CA in 1979 under Andre Salvage who was an assistant instructor to Master Chuck Cory.
When Andre Salvage opened an associated school in West Los Angeles, Bat McGrath became his assistant instructor and earned his Black Belt in April of 1983. In 1985 Bat McGrath returned to North Hollywood to study under Master Chuck Cory and taught morning classes. He earned his Master ranking from Master Cory in August of 1996.
Master McGrath is certified in advanced knife techniques as well as stick/cane fighting and extreme leverage techniques.

In 1987 Master McGrath began training students in the Nashville area and conducting seminars in rape prevention and self defense at many estalishments including RCA records, Capitol Records, and Starstruck Entertainment.
Master McGrath has privately trained many entertainment industry notables including Ashley Judd, Wynonna, and Faith Hill. He has also taught seminars in hand techniques to the security professionals of George H. Currey and Associates, one of the top agencys for artist protection.
He earned a certificate for investigation of violent persons in the workplace from Major George H. Currey. Master McGrath is responsible for three generations of students, resulting in four schools in the Nashville area.
He is currently teaching private and semi-private classes. Master McGrath strictly adheres to the teachings of Master Cory as taught by Grandmaster Jimmy H. Woo. Master Bat McGrath warmly welcomes his friend and mentor Master Chuck Cory to the Nashville area.

Bat McGrath is also an accomplished songwriter who’s credits include songs recorded by Kenny Rogers, Wynonna, Chely Wright, Chalee Tennison, Chad Austin and Earl Thomas Conley.
